HOSPITAL Semi-Private

The HOSPITAL Semi-Private supplementary insurance plan provides you with semi-private hospital insurance. You are free to choose your own doctor and hospital, and enjoy the greater comfort of a two-bed room. What is more, you can take advantage of many worthwhile supplementary benefits on top of your basic insurance as well as exclusive services in our partner clinics.

Intensive and transitional care
You will receive CHF 120.– per day for up to 14 days per calendar year for the costs of boarding (room and board) in a nursing home during inpatient acute and transitional care.

Choice of doctor
You have a free choice of doctor in hospitals throughout Switzerland. This enables you to request that the head physician operate on you personally, for example. Please note that where doctors not recognised by KLuG are concerned, costs are incurred which you yourself have to assume.

Abroad
CHF 1'500.– per day for emergencies. For planned inpatient treatment abroad, you receive up to CHF 1'500.– per day if you obtain an undertaking to pay costs from us beforehand.

Spa Treatment
Spa treatments prescribed by a doctor in a recognised spa / CHF 100.– per day, up to 21 days per year (in Switzerland and in Europe). spa and convalescence treatments together: up to 21 days per year.

Convalescence treatment
Convalescence treatments prescribed by a doctor in a recognised spa in Switzerland/ CHF 100.– per day, 
up to 21 days per year (in Switzerland and in Europe). spa and convalescence treatments together: up to 21 days per year.

Lump sum on birth
You receive a lump sum on birth of CHF 1'500.– for a home birth or a birth which occurs as an outpatient in a hospital or birthing centre.

Household help
If prescribed by a doctor and in the case of a complete inability to work /CHF 100.– per day, up to 30 days per year.

KidsCare
You receive up to 60 hours of KidsCare services per calendar year. A professionally trained carer is arranged within a short amount of time to look after and care for your sick or injured child (up to the age of 15) at home in familiar surroundings, allowing you to meet your work-related obligations.

Travel costs
In case of planned inpatient procedures, you will receive up to CHF 250.– per calendar year for costs associated with travelling to and from hospital (official taxi or public transport) in Switzerland.

Nanny service
You receive up to 60 hours of nanny services per calendar year if you have to be admitted to hospital as an inpatient. While you are in hospital, an experienced caregiver looks after your healthy children (up to the age of 15) on weekdays. Your children are given loving care at home during your inpatient stay.

Hospital (Switzerland)
Stay and treatment in a hospital / full coverage on a semi-private ward of a hospital recognised by KLuG.
Psychiatry / full coverage on a semi-private ward, up to 90 days per year

Qualifying period
For maternity benefits there is a qualifying period of 365 days from the date the insurance application has been signed. During this period maternity-related in-patient hospital stays are covered only on the general ward in the canton of residence. Once the qualifying period has expired a full coverage for a stay on a semi-private ward also for maternity-related reasons is applicable.
